Blerta Thaçi is a digital governance advocate and social entrepreneur from Kosovo, with a strong track record in promoting transparency, cybersecurity, and inclusive technology. With a background in software engineering and public policy, she brings a unique blend of technical expertise and civic vision to her work. She leads Open Data Kosovo, a civic tech organization working to build more open, accountable institutions through the use of data and technology. Blerta is also the founder of Girls Coding Kosova, empowering women and youth to pursue careers in tech, and the co-founder of ZenVen, Kosovo’s first coworking space. Blerta’s work focuses on ethical digital transformation, service design, and strengthening cybersecurity awareness. She is currently pursuing a master’s in Artificial Intelligence for Public Services (AI4Gov), exploring how AI can improve citizen engagement and access to public services. At the moment, she is leading CyberSecure Kosovo, an initiative aimed at building cyber resilience across media and civil society. Through assessment, training, advocacy, and research, the project supports communities in understanding and addressing the growing risks of digital threats in today’s information landscape.
