Kristina Reinsalu is Senior Expert on e-Democracy at the e-Governance Academy. She consults and leads the initiation, planning, implementation, and monitoring of local, national, and international projects on digital eKristina is a senior expert on citizen engagement and open governance. She researches, consults, and trains public authorities and civil society organizations on involving people in decision-making. Her passion is local democracy – I see it as a playground for testing democratic innovations.
In recent years, she has organized workshops on citizen participation in Latin American countries, supported rural communities in Georgia in boosting their digital skills, and measured the impact of e-participation initiatives. Her ongoing projects explore among other things how citizen engagement and co-creation can help cities become more resilient in facing green transition challenges.
I hold an MA in Public Relations and a PhD in Media and Communications. I speak Estonian, English, Spanish, Russian, and some German.
